About

My Story
Captain Jason Domangue grew up with a fishing pole in his hand. Originally from south Louisiana, the fishing industry is in his heritage. As a child he loved to crappie fish on Miller’s Ferry near Camden, AL. Fishing interests turned to saltwater as a teen deckhand working on Dauphin Island charter boats and later, running his own inshore guide company and captaining offshore charters (100 Ton Master). Competitive fishing was always a passion from billfish tournaments and the Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo to participating in local Mardi Gras fishing tournament fundraisers and charity tournaments benefitting good causes.
Presently, Captain Jason focuses his tournament fishing on the Crappie Master’s Alabama State Trail and fishes national trail tournaments when possible.

How it began

Crappie jig tying began as a hobby with vice as an anniversary present from his wife that he used to create custom crappie hair jigs for the crappie tournaments and expanded to his fishing buddies using his hand ties and from there demand grew. Delta Jig Company takes pride in creating 100% custom hair jigs for the discerning fishermen whether you’re a weekend angler or a tournament fisherman.

Captain Jason also loves fly fishing, golf, and spending time with his family. He presently lives in Mobile AL and fishes every chance he gets.
